First Holy Communion, Limerick

This year has been one of unpredictability, hasn’t it? Just a long long period of “hurry up and wait”. Communions, confirmations, christenings and weddings have all been scheduled and cancelled, changed and updated. Maybe that’s why they seem extra special these days. Maybe we have learned how precious it is to spend time with our loved ones.

Every single time I’m invited to someone’s home to take pictures for their First Communion or their Confirmation, I make sure to take more than just the standard family photos. I take the in-between pictures, the silly pictures, the “go away and leave me alone” pictures. Because these pictures exist to remind us of how very precious it is to celebrate life together.
