FAQ
Do you have availability this summer?
My summer dates (May - Aug) book up very quickly, so please fill out all the fields so that we can make sure to find a date, time and plan for your photo session!
When is a good time?
I always suggest getting together after you’ve had food. Everyone is happier with a full belly. So, after breakfast, after lunch, or after dinner. If we are doing a DITL then I’m there as soon as you want me, but other than that - my favourite time for family photos is in the morning or right before sunset. (Ireland has short days in the winter and long days in the summer, so timing changes monthly)
What if it rains?
Well, it’s Ireland. Chances are, it will rain at some point. However, we can have an alternative location, wait it out, or simply throw on some coats and wellies and have fun in the rain!
What will I wear?
Layers. Layers. Layers. (And have a change of clothes) Other than that, anything you want. Unless your shirt says something important like “Be the Change”, avoid words and logos, but other than that, if you’re comfortable and you feel like you, then wear it!
Will we get some traditional family photos with people looking at the camera?
Of course! If you want them. The Location Session has a more guided approach and that comes with a few more traditional photos. In every session, there is always a moment when everything comes together and I say, “OK everyone, let’s all stand together & look at me!” and maybe we’ll do some fun prompts like cuddles or tickles or simply walking - if you want them, I’ll take them! I will do my very best to get the photos you want most. That said, I will not spend the whole time organising “groups” or working through a long list of shots. Candid photos are what I do best.
What if it goes longer?
All my photo session times are approximate. I always say, if we’re having fun - why stop? I’m usually pretty good at knowing when everyone needs a break, or when it’s time to head home, but don’t be surprised if the time flies and we're together a bit longer than planned.
Is it ok to have grandparents or other family and friends in the photos?
I will photograph everyone. If they are with us, they’ll be in the pictures!
From my first conversation with Marie I knew instantly she was the perfect photographer for me, she is so friendly and easy to chat to and she truly cares and wants to get to know you before the photo shoot. This made us all feel so relaxed on the day it was like having a friend over who also happens to take the most beautiful photographs. Marie has such an eye for detail and capturing family life in a really authentic and beautiful way. I now have the most beautiful pictures of our family that I will treasure forever.
- Niamh Kavanagh
Marie was such a pleasure to work with, she was very kind, informative, funny, and helpful through the whole process! The photos turned out absolutely amazing!! We went with an odd ball location vs a standard location that is normally picked and I am so incredibly glad we did. Marie is very good at taking photos and capturing the perfect moments. If you have the pleasure of working with a photographer, I strongly suggest Marie! Thank you SO very much for capturing such an special time for my husband and I. You are such an amazing person!!

KIND WORDS
Are you ready to make some memories & take some family vacation photos in Ireland?
The Best Photo Session Locations in Co Clare and Limerick
BUNRATTY
Everything you could want for photos in Ireland - a castle and cottages, stone walls and ivy. Ice-cream, tea or pints, a playground & room to run.
THE CLIFFS OF MOHER
Needs no introduction. For families with children 2-10 the visitor centre & viewpoint has safe walls and room to roam. For babies in arms or couples, Moher Tower at Hags Head is real, unforgettable beauty.
CRATLOE WOODS
Tourist-free & a local favourite, it’s a perfect place for a walk through the trees down to the lake, or further up for beautiful views - and the kids will love the wooden playground.
QUIN FRIARY
Just 15 minutes off the motorway from Limerick to Ennis, Quin is a beautiful little town and the friary ruins with green fields around are perfect for that true feel of ancient Ireland
SPANISH POINT BEACH
Where do people from Limerick go for their holidays? Spanish Point! A beautiful sandy beach with dramatic cliffs, sea grass dunes, rocks to climb and the alluring waves.
YOUR PLACE
If you’re staying somewhere really wonderful, or perhaps just want to remember being together, I’m happy to join you where you’re staying.
CARRIGOGONNAL
It doesn’t get more romantic than this, a ruin for hundreds of years, slowly being claimed by nature, with hidden stairs, carved archways, and all the stunning views you could image (just mind the nettles!)
LAHINCH BEACH AND MAIN STREET
King John’s Castle, St Mary’s Cathedral or a walk down the River Shannon at the University of Limerick. And my favourite - a walk through the streets in the Medieval quarter
DOOLIN PIER & DOOLIN TOWN
A natural playground for kids of all ages, full of romance for couples, and the awe-inspiring cliffs in the distance, Doolin Pier is a favourite & the colourful town makes a perfect “Irish village” backdrop
CURRAGHCHASE
Another local favourite, and just outside of Limerick city, Curraghchase is a beautiful park with an old mansion, lake & woods.
ENNISTYMON
Ennistymon is a colourful town in Co Clare, close to the Cliffs of Moher, Doolin and Ennis. It’s a perfect place to explore from but also a great place for a documentary family photo session.
LIMERICK CITY
King John’s Castle, St Mary’s Cathedral or a walk down the River Shannon at the University of Limerick. And my favourite - a walk through the streets in the Medieval quarter
THE CLARE GLENS
Another hidden gem, away from crowds of people & the top tourist destinations, this river & waterfall walk is a perfect summer experience.
KILKEE CLIFFS
Sea-cliffs to rival Moher or Kerry, there’s a reason this is a favourite with Limerick people. After a wander around the cliffs, a splash on the beach, there’s ice cream and pints and the best vibes ever.
GALWAY
From walking around downtown to Silverstrand beach, Galway is a wonderful location for family photos on your vacation.
ATHASSAL ABBEY
One of Ireland's most extensive monasteries, Athassel Abbey in County Tipperary, stretching out along the banks of the River Suir. If you’re looking for ruins set within green rolling hills, this is it.
I also want you to know that I am here to help in any way I can. I can answer all the random questions that pop into your mind from “is there Ranch dressing in Ireland?” to “How long does it actually take to get from Dingle to Doolin?”
If there is anything I can do for you - just ask!
