Family Photos at Bunratty Castle and Folk Park
There are many wonderful things to do with kids in Co Clare from exploring Cratloe Woods, to visiting Moher Farm to enjoying Spanish Point and Lahinch beaches but one of my family’s all time favourite things to do is to spend some time at Bunratty Castle and Folk Park. In fact, we’ve had a season pass for the last twelve years! And every time I go it’s like spending time with an old friend and making new discovering all the time. That is why it is my #1 recommendation for a location to take family photos - because what kids really want to do is have room to run, doors to open, walls to climb and jump from and space to be themselves (also, it helps that there are a lot of places to hide from the rain.)
Spending the afternoon at Bunratty with these two characters was one of the happiest days I’ve spent so far this year. Even if my legs were a bit sore trying to keep up with them!

All. Those. Stairs.
There is so much more to do at Bunratty than climb stairs! There are wolfhounds and chickens, old huts and fancy farmhouses. There’s the walled garden and the old church. And, the all time favourite… the playground. You can spend as little as an hour racing around the grounds, or take the afternoon. But for this adventure, we went at the speed of little boys (in case you don’t know, that’s pretty dang fast).
